You will be given sedation for
the procedure to prevent any discomfort and should have no memory of the
event. Complications are very rare eg. bleeding or small perforation
can occur in a procedure such as removing a polyp.
After the procedure you will be left to rest in a recovery area as long
as it is necessary. Occasionally you may feel bloated with wind pains
but these settle within 1 2 hours. Feel free to pass this wind to
allow the symptoms to settle. You should be at the hospital for about
3 hours-please arrange for someone to pick you up for transport home at
that time. I will discuss the findings with you before you leave.
You will be given a copy of the findings to present to your Doctor as soon
as you wish but I will be sending a letter and forwarding any pathology
results to your Doctor.
YOU CANNOT DRIVE A CAR THAT DAY YOU MUST ARRANGE TRANSPORT
HOME
